As a result of the Gran Poder festival the previous night, the entire city of La Paz was a ghost town! This very well could have been due to the fact that it was Sunday and many were in church, however, our collaborative hypothesis was that no one was "capable" of having any possibility of productivity with all of the "activities" people were partaking in the night and early morning before.
Well, the LPF staff took advantage of the serenity and took us on a peaceful tour of the city. On our walk we were not only able to see different shops and stores selling unique little trinkets, but were taking to the more historic part of La Paz, which is now mainly museums, but the architecture was breathtakingly gorgeous and completely colonial Spanish based.
Throughout my time here so far, I have experienced no hostility from the locals whatsoever...if anything they are interested in our purpose for being here and excited to have us, however, today  I got a little taste. While trekking through the political district of La Paz (picture above was taken with the guards outside of the president's house) a gentleman carrying a cake box walked straight through our group to make an extremely creepy comment that can be translated into "Greeting from Osama Bin Laden". We were all put off to say the least, but decided it was best to end our journey there and continue with all else we had scheduled for the day.
All in all the day was a very relaxed one, all of us mentally, physically, and emotionally preparing for the days ahead!
